A nice shrub species very common in the forest-steppe area, especially in Transylvania; it came out from our studies that the dense shrubberies this species makes are not stable old associations but they are produced frequently in the occasionally disturbed areas from the steep sunny slopes, like in their uppermost parts at the contact between xeric pastures and croplands from the opposite shady slopes or the roads on the hill tops, and along the vineyard or forest plantations terraces on steep sunny slopes.
